The University of Arizona will be the central pillar of our trip, with many of the locations we are visiting located in, or are part of, the university.

The university’s College of Science contains a leading astronomy and space science department. The department is heavily involved in current missions and discoveries, including OSIRIS-REx, the first US sample return mission to an asteroid, and the recent discovery of three Earth-sized planets orbiting the distant star, EPIC 201367065. More information can be found on the Research page.

Other areas of interest include the Steward Mirror Lab, responsible for making some of the largest mirrors in the world for use in telescopes, and the Lunar Planetary Lab (LPL) that focuses on the wide field of planetary astronomy.
